hotels abroad, and also (and this especially applies to the UK) other
venues besides such as
zoos,
race tracks and
football clubs, are
licensed for
wedding ceremonies and
civil partnership ceremonies. Many of these venues also cater for wedding and civil partnership receptions. So it is quite customary, nowadays, for the
daytime ceremony to take place in the same venue as the
evening reception. The same venue may also be appropriate for
wedding guest accommodation, and
accommodation for bridal couple or
civil partners. Keeping everything under one roof invariably keeps down costs and certainly has the added advantage of making things easier both for the happy couple and all guests who have been invited to the full daytime and evening attendances of everything.
