Wedding Venues UK

Q. Where can I find wedding venues in the UK ?

A. There are wonderful wedding venues abounding in their thousands throughout all the British Isles -from the Highlands of Bonnie Scotland – right down to all the Cornish and Devonshire towns and villages, and beyond to the Scilly Isles, as well as all the various other islands which belong to this country including some particular Scottish islands in the Shetlands, Orkneys and Hebrides, the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, Anglesey, - and Jersey and Guernsey in the Channel Islands. A combination of the most magnificent, and more modest wedding venues are abounding in, and around, all of our great cities: Liverpool, London, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester, York, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leicester and Nottingham, to name but a few.

Q. Where can I find a fun wedding venue in the UK?

A. There are very few regions in and around Great Britain which do not provide suitable establishments for wedding venues. An historical favourite place for many couples to “tie the knot” is over the anvil at Gretna. If your particular wedding venue desire is something different from a smart restaurant, conference centre or hotel, it may be necessary that your wedding takes place at a location a fair distance from the homestead. Castles are very popular for wedding venues. But not everyone has a castle at the end of their lane. And the same applies to manor houses which also provide a great ambience for weddings. Nowadays, there are numerous, more unusual establishments catering for weddings. Any of the following may be well worth a consideration for a fun wedding venue: zoos, planetariums, railway stations, art galleries, museums, barns, boats, health clubs and skating rinks. These are just a few of the more unusual venues licensed for weddings.

It’s a question of “horses for courses”, and “one’s man’s meat is another man’s poison” and any other old and appropriate adage that may spring to mind. The main thing is that the wedding couple select their favourite wedding venue. Although obviously, bridal couples must have some consideration for their guests, especially if there is long travel to venue involved. And some venues may not be quite so elderly-enjoyable or disabled-friendly as others. But another old adage coming up, “you can’t please all of the people all of the time”. But nevertheless, it would be very sad if a dear old Uncle was unable to attend the wedding because of one of the things previously mentioned.

England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland, and many of its islands, have so many wonderful, different and exciting wedding venues to offer, that it can sometimes make one sometimes wonder why British wedding couples would even consider a thought of marrying outside of the UK.
