Wedding Gifts
Gone are the days when there was a need for a bride and groom to live in hopes that their guests would not be duplicating wedding gifts. Although, maybe, one can never have enough, say, photograph frames, crystal wine goblets, bed linen and towels, - one can certainly consider that three irons, four bread bins and half a dozen kettles is far more than plenty. And whilst Aunty Sylvia may consider the yellow duck ornament she is purchasing for her niece’s wedding is the best ornament in the world, the bride may have a very different opinion. (These are just some of the sorts of several wedding gift disasters which were commonplace in yesteryear).
Wedding gift lists are now widely accepted as the norm. In fact, most of the wedding guests will likely prefer to be given guidance on their gift to the bride and groom, happy in the knowledge that they know that their wedding present will definitely be well appreciated.
Many engaged couples present their wedding gifts list to a chosen store. More and more of the larger stores are supplying the wedding gift information online. This enables the wedding guests to view the list of wedding presents. It provides them with the opportunity to order their chosen wedding gift on the internet. Once their chosen wedding item has been paid to the store, this is then shown as having been purchased for the bridal couple. Other guests viewing the wedding gift list at a future time will need to select a different wedding present which is still showing available to purchase.
Some charitable organisations also have some great wedding gift ideas for wedding couples. Other charities suggest that wedding couples might like to mention to their guests that they are not requiring any wedding gifts – and request instead, that their guests make a donation to their particular charity.
